XEOMIN®: First and Only FDA–Approved Botulinum Toxin Type A for Adults with Chronic Sialorrhea

How XEOMIN® Works?

The most common cause of sialorrhea is a nerve and muscle condition, but it can also be caused by problems with brain signaling, muscular problems, or from excessive secretion of saliva.

XEOMIN® blocks certain chemicals at the point where salivary glands and nerves meet. It slows down the release of the chemicals at the nerve endings that promote saliva production.

Imges are for illustration purposes only. Individual results may vary.

Dosing Sites Focus on 2 Key Glands

Where to Inject

  1. To inject the parotid gland, find the midpoint on the line connecting the tragus and mandible angle (sites A and B, respectively), approximately at the height of the earlobe. Deliver the injection 1 fingerbreadth anterior to this site (area 1).

  2. To inject the submandibular gland, find the midpoint between the angle of the mandible and the tip of the chin (sites B and C, respectively). Deliver the injection 1 fingerbreadth medial to the inferior surface of the mandible at this site (area 2).
