17th International MS Congress of Iran was conducted at Parsian Azadi Hotel in Tehran, on 20-22 January 2021. Unlike previous years, the congress was administered virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On the first day of the congress, Medisa Ara Gostar Company, KMT Holding Pharmaceutical Department, held a virtual symposium focusing on introduction of two products applied in treatment of movement disorders: Cannabidiol (CBD) and botulinum toxin Xeomin®.
In the opening of this symposium, Dr. Roya Abolfazli, as the moderator of congress, introduced the professors and announced the program agenda. Afterwards, the therapeutic potential of Cannabidiol (CBD) in treatment of neurological disorders were reviewed by Dr. Seyed Massoud Nabavi. Subsequently, a question and answer session was conducted by Dr. Abolfazli and Dr. Nabavi.
The event was continued with interpretation of botulinum toxin Xeomin® indications, especially in treatment of movement disorders by Dr. Gholamhossein Shahidi. Eventually, the recommended dose of Xeomin® for lower limb spasticity was remarked by Dr. Amir Hassan Habibi while exhibiting intramuscular administration of Xeomin® to a patient with MS.
On the last day of the congress, Inovo Lipomed CBD® as the first CBD-based liposomal supplement manufactured in Iran was introduced to attendees.
